Truly one of New Jersey’s best kept secrets, Peapack-Gladstone is set amongst the bucolic rolling hills of northeast Somerset County.  Many families are attracted by its Norman Rockwell charm, pristine landscape, and prime location.  Peapack-Gladstone is a pedestrian friendly community with many homes within walking distance to town and the train.  Actually, there are two train stations as well as two Post Offices with one of each in Gladstone and Peapack respectively.  The Borough is also part of the Somerset Hills School District in nearby Bernardsville, which is considered to be one of the best districts in the state.

Peapack-Gladstone is extremely community minded with a host of cultural, recreational, historical, and charitable events and activities taking place year round.  Many of these events including various holiday festivities, band concerts, art shows, the Green Festival, Community Day and Carols by Candlelight, to name a few are centered around Liberty Pond, which is located in the middle of town and comes complete with resident white swans, a quaint gazebo, picnic tables, walking trail and small playground.  The Borough also offers a local library, an excellent summer recreation program for children of all ages, as well as a year round array of organized sports for town youth.

Culinary choices abound for the pickiest of palettes from the world class Ninety Acres (in Natirar), to Café Azzurro (with outdoor seating), to 89 Main, Sublime, The Gladstone Tavern, Dominck’s Pizza, New Gladstone Market and a town favorite gathering spot CocoLuxe Fine Pastries for tasty desserts.  In addition to many fine restaurants, there are a host of upscale shops, boutiques, hair and nail salons, spas and a classic/antique car showroom.

Peapack-Gladstone is also home to the United States Equestrian Team (ESET) which trains and supports top athletes and horses to compete at the Olympics, World Championships, Pan American Games and other top international competitions in a variety of disciplines.

The Essex Hunt Club is a well established fox hunting club with hounds that still hunt and riders who dress the part and maintain the long standing tradition on 100 plus acres of prime hunt country land in Peapack.  The club has transformed in recent years and also offers an ice rink used for recreational figure skating and hockey.

For those who enjoy golf, Peapack-Gladstone is home to one the finest private golf clubs in the country – Hamilton Farm Golf Club, which is host to the nationally televised LPGA annual tour event, SyBase Match Play Championship.  Other highlights of the town include the beautiful 500 acre county owned property Natirar, which spans parts of neighboring Peapack-Gladstone, Bedminster and Far Hills and takes its name from the North Branch of the Raritan (spelled backwards) River that runs through the estate.  It was once home to the King of Morocco and is now dedicated Open Space and houses Richard Branson’s recently opened gourmet hilltop culinary center – Ninety Acres.  A high-end spa is planned on the property in the coming years.  This property is also the site of the annual “Miles for Matheny” charity run event which benefits children who attend The Matheny School also located in town.  This is a unique school and hospital catering to the special educational, physical and medical needs of children with a diverse range of disabilities and is a very big part of the community.
