Located in the northeast corner of town and convenient to both the Middle and Elementary schools, the town pool, as well as downtown Chester Borough’s historical village/shopping district, which includes many of the main attractions in town, the homes at Forest Hill is well known as one of the more prestigious and desirable neighborhoods in Chester. This community is often the top choice for many high level executives looking to relocate into this area of NJ.
There are only 66 homes in this development which are neatly arranged along a circular road with three small side streets offering cul-de-sac settings. Slight changes in elevation throughout the neighborhood adds a nice dimension to the landscape, which is lush and park-like creating a true sense of luxury. While most of the homes are Colonials, they are diverse in style and appearance, from the very stately Williamsburg Colonials, spacious Contemporary style homes, elegant brick and stone front French Provincial homes, stately custom Colonials along with the more traditional Center Hall Colonials. Some homes feature butterfly staircases, soaring ceilings, grand two story entrance ways, circular driveways, over-sized rooms along with all of today’s most modern and sought after amenities.
These homes range in size from approximately 3,400 to 8,350 sq.ft., and boast 4 to 6 bedrooms (many with 5), 3 to 7 bathrooms, 2 to 4 fireplaces, 2 to 3 car garages and full basements with many being finished. Some of the homes have beautiful in-ground swimming pools & spas, tennis courts, libraries, sun rooms, great rooms and separate au paire or in-law suites.
The homes in Forest Hill are ideally situated on an average lot size of approximately 2 acres, with a few lots being as large as 5 acres. Most lots offer private back yards with many of them bordering preserved land. The homes were constructed from 1985 through 1995, with the majority of them being built in the late 80′s. The neighborhood is very pedestrian offering sidewalks with Belgian block curbing and also includes a community pond which is great for fishing with the kids.
Prices over the past several years have been ranging from the low $700′s up to $1.1M in this neighborhood, although some of the largest homes will sell for more.
Other developments / neighborhoods in Chester with similarly priced homes include Chestnut Run, Colby Farm, Pleasant Hill Estates, Hartley Meadows, Chesterfield Farm, Highland Farms, Briarcliff, Colts Run and Timber Ridge, among others.
