The homes in Chestnut Run are located on the east side of Chester very close to the center of town, and especially to the elementary and middle schools. This location is prime Chester NJ real estate, convenient to shopping (including Downtown Chester Village, Streets of Chester and Chester Mall, to name a few), the new state of the art library, banks, post office, restaurants, parks and everything else Chester has to offer.
Many have described this enclave of 67 executive homes as a “park-like” setting with its manicured lawns and meticulously landscaped properties. Lot sizes are rather diverse for a planned development of this type averaging a little under 3 acres with the smallest lot around 1 acre and the largest being 7.5 acres. Most lots are flat and generally open, with some backing to the woods boasting more private rear yards. Several of the properties are “flag” lots, which offer the most privacy, yet other lots have views with others being lightly wooded. There are also several cul-de-sacs in this community of 3 streets.
The homes in Chestnut Run were constructed in the mid to late 1980′s and are mostly Colonials ranging in size from approximately 3,200 to 4,800 sq. ft. featuring many of today’s modern amenities that one would expect to find in an upscale development, including bonus rooms over the garage, libraries, lofts and great rooms, just to name few examples. Although the majority of homes are colonials, they differ in style and architecture, such as southern colonials, the more traditional looking center hall colonials typically found in the Northeast, custom colonials and several contemporary styled homes, which results in avoiding the typical “cookie cutter” looking neighborhood.
These homes typically have 4 to 5 bedrooms, anywhere from 3 to 5 bathrooms, 1 to 3 fireplaces, most with full basements and many with finished lower levels, 2 to 3 car garages, Belgian block curbing, some with built-in swimming pools, and a few with aupair or in-law suites. Prices over the past several years have been ranging from the mid $600′s to mid $800′s in this neighborhood, although some of the largest homes will sell for more. The homes in Chestnut Run is truly a great place to call home.
